FAQs about City Country School
FAQs
Is City Country School the right school for my child (and our family)?
Your child’s education is a personal matter. You must feel comfortable with the belief system that underpins the school you choose for your child. This school could be a good fit for your family if you believe that self-discovery and purpose are essential to a good life.
What curriculum do you follow?
City Country School follows the Montessori curriculum.
Do you have transportation?
The school does not offer private transportation. The school is easily accessible by public transportation, with buses #64, #82 and #137 and metro line #7, stations "Valdezarza" or "Antonio Machado."
What ages do you serve?
City Country School serves children from 3 to 16 years old (from PK3 to Grade 10). Our Children’s House serves children 3 to 6 years old. Our Elementary serves children 6 to 12 years old. Our Adolescent Community serves children 12 to 16 years old.
Is the school accredited?
Yes. City Country School is accredited by two different accreditation organizations: the Middle States Association (which would be sufficient to be recognized by the Spanish authorities) and the American Montessori Society (an accreditation we decided to pursue, because too many schools use the Montessori name without implementing the pedagogy). We are the only school in Europe with accreditation from the American Montessori Society for all three programs: Children’s House, Elementary, and Adolescence.
City Country School is officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education as a foreign school.
What schools can my child attend after City Country School?
City Country School is an accredited American school recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and, as such, permits our students to transfer to any school, as if they had been attending a school in the U.S.
Can I visit the school?
Yes, you can visit the school and we would be happy to show you around! Visits are organized individually and take place in the mornings, giving interested parents the opportunity to take a peek at a Montessori classroom in action. If you are interested in scheduling a visit, please call 91 373 8695, or send an email to info@citycountryschool.org. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
What is the enrollment process?
Please contact the school for an admissions packet.
Does the school serve lunch?
Yes, we provide organic lunch and snacks for the children at school. We make lunch completely from scratch in our kitchen everyday using only fresh organic ingredients: nothing canned, powdered, prepared or packaged. See a monthly Menu HERE.
